Ponderings from the Principal...
Dear Parents, PACT testing will begin the week of May 12th, and we’re looking forward to a successful testing period. May will go by rapidly and the month is already packed full of activities. Please check the upcoming events section of this newsletter. We wouldn’t want you to miss the great things going on. We have two Super Saturdays planned for 3-5 graders, May 3rd and May 10th. Both sessions are from 9-12 and students will have more opportunity to prepare for PACT and practice testing skills. Please let us know in writing if your child will participate. Our final PTO meeting and Family Night will be held on May 22, 2008 at 6:30 PM. Fun activities are planned for you and your family. Our end of the year trip is May 29. Students will be traveling to Pineville, NC on district school buses, unless otherwise stated in writing by the parent or legal guardian. We are scheduled to leave school at 8:30 AM and return at 3:30 PM. Upon returning to West Lee, the bus drivers will run their regular routes and deliver the children safely home. If your child is a car rider, please make arrangements to pick your child up at 3:30 PM. All permission forms, along with $5.00 per student, must be returned to school by May 16, 2008. Students will be provided with a school lunch. Home room teachers will contact parents to serve as class chaperones. Please contact me at any time if you have questions or concerns.
